Zelda Fan Fiction Contest
Calling all aspiring authors! Starting today, and running over the next two months, is The Sacred Realm’s second annual Zelda fan fiction contest.
Write a short story of up to 2500 words about Zelda, and send it in to contest@thesacredrealm.net before August 31 to have the chance to win a share of US$100 worth of prizes.
For all of the details, head over to the contest page.
Last year’s contest was a huge success, with just over 50 entries received, and some truly amazing stories. I hope that this year’s will be even better. Entries in this year’s contest will once again be judged by the awesome team of EA, Huanir and The Missing Link, and a big thank you to them for agreeing to do this all over again!
Good luck to everyone who enters!

Working on a full Iphone Zelda theme
My Zelda Theme may or may not have Icons. Right now I’m leaning towards only modding the stock icons, leave them the same style as the iPhone, but putting Zelda-esque things in them. The phone could be an Ocarina, Mail could be a bottle etc. Here is what I have so far. Looking for suggestions I guess. This is the first theme I’ve tried to make ever.
The little mushrooms for page dots I will probably change to something else. That was something I had done before deciding to do a full Zelda theme. The Signal in the top left is like a magic bar. I was hoping to make it a little wider but can’t figure out how. It depletes with lower signals obviously. The Heart is the Wifi connection. Full heart down to a quarter heart. Fun stuff.
The first image is just starting up Cydia, but that Triforce is spinning.

New Affiliate
I have a new affiliate, Link’s Hideaway. The site was created in early 2008, and has been building up a large collection of content ever since. Currently, they’ve been adding lots of guides, and they also have a growing fan-works section. I think that this site is well on the way to becoming one of the big Zelda sites, so make sure you pay them a visit.
Our affiliate, LOZ.com have made an exciting discovery. They have unearthed a series of scrolls in the Gerudo Desert, and found that they are the fabled Ancient Hylian Texts. The first chapter, describing the creation of Hyrule, has been translated, and you can read it here.
I’ve also added a link to a Goron Fanlisting, for all you fans of the rock-eating creatures.

Koji Kondo – Zelda Medley – Overworld Theme & Ocarina Songs (cover)
Rocket-Piano.org I wanted to epitomize the Overworld Theme, and leave the Ocarina Songs in their pure, original form. Ugh, sorry for my messiness in the Overworld Theme, my arrangement was sort of a reach in terms of my playing. (another words I was attempting something really hard to play) Also, I apologize for my melodic mistakes in Zelda’s Lullaby… I was actually playing that one by memory so I messed up!!!! So here is the official order Zelda Overworld Theme Minuet of Forest Bolero of …

Halo Legends Anime Releasing in 2010; Master Chief Kawaii?
My two obsessions lately have been video games and anime. If you told me there would be a day where one of the biggest video game franchises in recent history will get an anime treatment, I’d turn you to the Legend of Zelda cartoons from the late 80s to remind you what a horrible idea [...]
