Top Five Reasons to Own a Wii
Here is the final part in the three part series at Hamsterfist.com Ok, so Hamsterfist could only come up with five reasons to own the Wii, as opposed to Ten reasons for the other two consoles. What did he miss?
excerpt:
“So the Wii has been criticized from hardcore gamers for only focusing on the casual market. To this I say, boo hoo. It is not like Nintendo has ever really focused on the hardcore gamers. Yes there has been the occasional RPG or shooter that was awesome, but that has never been Nintendo’s aim. (Also is Zelda or Metroid really hardcore?) To this end Nintendo has included the whole family, and that is a good thing for gaming. Consider the Wii to be like marijuana. It is the gateway drug for the whole family, only this time the high is Mario and Wii Resort.”
Kuno Shinji – Bohemian Rhapsody a Japanese Spin On Queen’s Popular Song
This right here is an amazing cover to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. It is sung by an amazing Japanese accapella group “Kuno Shinji”. The song is part of the Casshern Sins Project anime and can be found on the Hikari to Kage single by Kuno Shinji on the B-side. I thought I [...]

Superdeformed strategy game takes top spot from Monster Hunter Tri, Dragon Quest IX; new Tingle game for DS lands in ninth place.
Monster Hunter Tri’s stay atop the Japanese software sales charts was a brief one. After selling more than half a million copies in its debut , Capcom’s action role-playing game slipped to second place for the week of August 3-9, with 137,093 sold.
All the destructive power of an exploding sun, and all the hugability of a Beanie Baby.
Replacing Monster Hunter Tri as the best-seller of the week was SD Gundam G Generation Wars for the PlayStation 2, which racked up sales of 175,304. The latest installment in the superdeformed turn-based strategy series features characters and mech suits from dozens of Gundam series. A Wii edition came in eighth place, selling 35,084.
Those weren’t the only new releases to hit the charts for the week. Effete Zelda character Tingle returned for another adventure on the DS, which sold 33,498, good enough for ninth place. Namco Bandai’s PSP game Tales of Vs. grabbed fourth place with 133,706 sold, offering fans of the company’s Tales series of role-playing games a chance to mix it up with their favorite characters in a fighting game. Finally, Kamen Rider: Climax Heroes for the PS2 took seventh with 51,740, while Konami’s J-League Winning Eleven 2009: Club Championship scored sales of 33,378, sneaking just inside the top 10.
In hardware news, the DSi reclaimed the top slot on the charts, selling 70,066 units. After its one-week stint at the top thanks to a new black-hued system and Monster Hunter Tri launch, the Wii slipped back down to second with 47,140 sold. On the other end of the charts, the Xbox 360 sold 5,436 systems following the Japanese releases of Gears of War 2 and Magna Carta 2. That was just a few hundred units behind the PlayStaiton 3’s 5,826-unit haul.

7″ Legend of Zelda “Link” Statue from First4Figures
I unbox and take a look at yet another amazing statue fom First4Figures! If you are interested in purchasing this statue here is a link (referral): www.play-asia.com Mini Review: This is one detailed statue, I love the shading done to keep it from feeling flat. Link’s pose is the classic mind up before doing his 360 sword swipe. Much detail paid to weapons and clothing, and the base is amazingly detailed. Stones are textured and the tree stump has nice touches such as little spots of green …

Zelda Wii: Five Ways Wii Motion Plus Can Make the Series Pop
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was essentially a port from the Gamecube to the Wii with improved controls. Now, “New Play Control” Wii games like Pikmin and Mario Tennis now sell for the reduced price of $30 USD. Twilight Princess, being a launch title on Wii, sold for the full $50 USD price point. I do not regret spending the money; the game was extremely enjoyable and since I had not played it on the Gamecube, it was a fresh and exciting first Wii game for me. At E3 this year, Shigeru Miyamoto announced that a new Legend of Zelda was being created for the Wii and released one piece of concept art. With 3 years between Zelda games and with the newly released improvement, Wii Motion Plus, Miyamoto and Nintendo could turn this into the interactive game of the decade. Without changing the story, gameplay or breaking their predictive Zelda-game model, here are five ways they could utilize Wii Motion Plus to make the Legend of Zelda Wii as revered as Ocarina of Time.

Zelda Capital Wins a Lozzie!
LegendofZelda.com today revealed their third set of Lozzie award winners: the Rembrant, the most visually appealing site, and the Pulitzer, the site with the best news coverage.
I am very proud to say that Zelda Capital has won the Rembrant award for “most visually appealing site!” Xizor from LegendofZelda.com had this to say about our site:
The navigation of the layout is simple and easy, with each section labeled clearly and not organized like rubbish. The way that the text fits perfectly all around, and doesn’t seem too hard to read with the color contrast, this site is quite pleasant to stick around it, assuming the content’s up to snuff! Like Hyrule.net, Zelda Capital also features a login box at the top of their site for the forums, so I’ll pop on over to their forums.
At the crossover, I notice that the site layout is fully integrated; that is to say, the front page and the forums feel like they are literally part of one site, rather than two separate entities with two very distinct layouts and color schemes. In today’s Zelda Community, that is definitely a rarity. In the end, Zelda Capital is a beautifully designed site, and that’s just all the more reason to go and check them out and see what they have to offer!
Thank you very much LoZ.com for this award, and I am extremely proud to have won it. I’m glad that you all enjoy the layout, and I look forward to seeing the rest of the winners of the Lozzie awards this week!
