July Artwork Update

This months artwork update features another five great pieces from our friends at North Castle.

~ Zelda Fan Artwork ~
Sheik by Sarah888
Valoo by Smitie
Lake of Twilight by Tawny
Princess Zelda LoZ by Viasacra
Lady Zelda by Viridian Rain

All five pieces are great and personally, I think the Lake of Twilight one stands out. It seems very dark and gloomy, but I just seem to like it. It really stays true to the feel of Twilight Princess. Valoo, which was made by our very own forum moderator Smitie, is also a great piece of work. It is bright and colorful and just looks pretty cool. Princess Zelda LoZ is similar to artwork we featured in the past, and it is similar to the official artwork of Princess Zelda from the original Legend of Zelda.

Hope you all enjoyed this months artwork. Which is your favorite of the pieces listed above? Head on over to our Zelda Forums to voice your opinion.

Happy First Birthday WZMR!

World Zelda Music Radio has been serving Zelda music fanatics of all walks of genres for exactly one year today. In my eyes, I see it as a true accomplishment, being able to set up a website and let it run itself in a unique and dedicated manner. Let the celebration commence! Back when this all started for me, I thought a year seemed like such a long time to survive and it is. But the past year for me has gone by incredibly fast, and I can’t imagine what it would have been like without keeping an eye on the radio every day, and keeping the main site up to date with new features and articles. To be honest, I almost forgot about it despite it being marked on my calendar for quite some time now. “The flow of time is always cruel” – Sheik I would really like to give out my thanks to everyone who has helped make this possible. I really have no idea where to start, so I’ll start with my staff members. First off is ScienceOfThePS3… Great guy, you have done so much to help this site become what it is now, you really deserve a big thank you. Another thanks goes to Stephen for providing a server leaf, as well as Dustin of NFNet (our IRC provider). Mkava deserves thanks for helping coding site features that I’m too lazy (or untalented enough) to do myself. I’d like to give a shout-out to the amazing guys powering ZeldaInformer.com for their support with their previous radio segment Zelda Remix Hour , for their general support of our site, and for their kickass Zelda articles. I could go on all night naming all of the other awesome people… But lastly, I would like to thank all of the site visitors and fans who continue to show their support by tuning into the station and for visiting the site as well. Without a listener base, we would just be sitting here twiddling our thumbs. We hope that you guys truly enjoy what we are doing for you, and we very much encourage any feedback, even the negative type because that’s how we know where to improve. WZMR has been growing since Day 1, and it has been a real pleasure to enjoy seeing that happen as it continues to live on. In the last year we have gained a lot of experience in online streaming and website integration. We plan to continue growing in this direction over the course of the next year by refining our request system, streamlining our flash players, and integrating new ways to allow more ways for you to tune in, and much more! Thank you all for your support! ebuch ~ Project Lead

Shocking Discovery at LoZ.com!!

I have just received an email from one of our good friends in the community, LegendofZelda.com , and they have sent me news regarding a very groundbreaking discovery! It has been announced that LoZ.com staff members have uncovered a very ancient collection of Hylian Scrolls lost in the Gerudo Desert! Measures have quickly been taken to preserve the findings as soon as possible, to ensure they can be studied for further knowledge. No images or full descriptions have been released, but there are rumors that these scrolls could in fact be the mythical Ancient Hylian Texts! Crews have already begun forming to discover the meaning hidden within the scrolls’ messages, as they are covered with ancient Hylian markings. LoZ.com staff is requesting that persons who are fluid in the ancient Hylian language join their Facebook page, as well as their Twitter profile. Or you can join them anyways and find out what exactly is going on. Stay tuned for more information! Source: LoZ.com Forums

The Zelda Timeline by AVGN

I just browsing through YouTube today when I came across this video by James Rolfe, also known as the Angry Video Game Nerd . For those of you that don’t know who AVGN is, he does “angry” but histerical reviews of some of the worst games ever released back in the days of the NES, SNES, Genesis, and yes…even CD-i. Anyway, he did a 19 minute long video on the Zelda timeline and how confusing it really is. This was one of his earlier videos he did back in 2006, but he just never thought that it was a right time to release it to his fans…until now. Now there really isn’t too much anger in this video compared to some of his other ones, but I think he does a good job of explaining the timeline amid all of the confusion. Warning: There is some content in this video that may not be suitable for deku scrubs…eh-ehm…little kids. Parental consent is advised. Source: YouTube

Wind Waker Walkthrough: Hyrule Down Under

Well well, long time no update… at least from me. After a somewhat major error on my behalf while working on the walkthrough, we’ve finally gotten chapter 7 up and ready for you to have a look at. This chapter will guide you to getting the Master Sword and some other various things before the next stop on your quest. I hope you enjoy it. I am hoping we can have chapter 8 ready for you in the next couple weeks as well.

On another note, I’m sure some of you have been wondering about the podcast we usually have on a bi-weekly basis. Due to various time constrictions and other matters, we have been unable to do one for a few weeks now. Tomorrow we will also be unable to have one, but don’t get upset just yet! I, along with some of the other staff here at Zelda Dungeon, will be streaming live at the forums for a while beginning at 12 pm Central Time. Hope to see you there. Until next time.

Links Awakening Walkthrough Chapter 2, Vacation!

Chapter 2 of the Link’s Awakening Walkthrough is now up. This part of the walkthrough covers getting BowWow back, and obtaining the Conch Horn in Key Cavern. For those of you who read my last post for the Chapter 1 update, I made a promise that this one wouldn’t take as long as the last one, well, I kept it.

In other news, I am going to Colorado on Wednesday, July 1st. During that time I will not be able to work on more content, or visit the site. I will be coming back on the 15th of July. See you all in a few weeks.

Something Fishy About This One…

Chapter 5 of the Ocarina of Time Site Walkthrough is complete. I was debating whether or not to do much with this chapter, but I’m very pleased with the end result. It’s much more comprehensive now and lots of pretty pictures to boot. This chapter covers the journey up Zora’s River, going to Zora’s Domain, Lake Hylia and tackling Jabu-Jabu’s Belly.

The next chapter, 6, is the last one that needs to be redone that has the odd numbered Gold Skulltulas and Heart Pieces. After I finish that one, they’ll all be in order from 1-100 (and people can stop sending me e-mails about it, yay)!

I bring forth the 4th for 4th of July!

There’s a tongue twisting title, no? Happy 4th of July all! I don’t have anything else to say about it other than that though… how boring, right? I hope you all have a good one =)

It’s just not proper to make an update without actually updating on anything, so here’s Chapter 4 of the Ocarina of Time Video Walkthrough. It’s actually been done for a few days and it covers going to Goron City and Dodongo’s Cavern, then takes us up to the top of Death Mountain to see the Great Fairy of Magic.
